The weather is starting to get nicer, and the sun seems to be shining more and more. That means we'll all be spending some time outside on the weekends enjoying food and drinks. There happens to always be some sort of debate on which breakfast dish is the best one, so I wanted to take this time to honor and showcase some really delicious and creative versions of this amazing dish that is loved all over the world, look below for some suggestions and don't forget to comment your favorite that isn't listed.

Celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day at Grand Lux Cafe

Tuesday, April 12 is National  Grilled Cheese Day and what better way to spend it then by eating a Grilled Cheese Sandwich? This past Saturday, my family and I were invited out to eat at Grand Lux Cafe, where I off course ordered their Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. You can pay homage to this special dish by grabbing a grilled cheese sandwich at Grand Lux Cafe.

Grand Lux is one of our favorite places to eat, together as a family. Grand Lux Cafe, opened by the founders of The Cheesecake Factory, is an American restaurant serving internationally influenced dishes in an elegant family-friendly environment. It is located on Westheimer, right across the Galleria Mall, you won't miss their huge logo. My family and I love eating here for the simple fact that you can chose from a wide array of dishes from the menu, and they're all well prepared.

We used this time to hang out as a family, and have an official send-off as I will be moving soon. We also took the opportunity to catch up on what everyone has going on. We enjoyed glasses of mimosas, made with Grand Marnier and beignets to start. It's sort of been a mission of mine now, to recognize the differences between beignets everywhere. Because I'll tell you this, not all beignets are made the same. This will be a post for another day, but the Grand Lux beignets held their own, having a special flavor to make them unique.

Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich w/ a side of Fries

Their Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich is made with slow roasted short rib, arugula and melted cheese topped with caramelized and pickled onions. You have a choice between mixed greens and fries as a side, and I off course chose the fries. Short Ribs are a cut of beef that I absolutely love when cooked well, I've yet to become a master at cooking it myself. You can't go wrong with a dish consisting of perfectly prepared Short Ribs, though I have found that they need to be accompanied by a little kick of excitement. That's where the pickled onions and the horseradish come to play, giving them an addition of flavor.
