I learned a supper awesome recipe while cruising in Mexico last month, and I thought I'd share it with you all in time for Cinco De Mayo. Many of you, including myself, will likely be out and about, at a bar or restaurant enjoying great food and drinks as we recognize and help celebrate Mexico's victory over France.
But for those who will be home(I may end up staying in, who knows), I want to share this recipe that was shared with me. It's easy to make and you can enjoy it with some chips or over tacos, while watching a fabulous movie or show on Netflix...Or in my case, catching up on the latest episode of Empire on Hulu.

Spiked Guacamole

World of Beer BEERUNCH and Giveaway

Last month I was invited out to experience World of Beer in Sugarland, TX. It was the weekend of my brother's birthday, so we took a little trip to the Sugarland Town Center. World of Beer Sugarland has been open for a little over a year, and has been offering brunch for only a few months. But get this, since it is the World of Beer and all, this meal is called a BEERunch(cool huh?)

World of Beer made sure nobody was left behind. As you walk in, your eyes will naturally travel towards their nicely stocked bar, at which you can enjoy 61 taps, and over 500 different beers.  Not all at once, obviously!Their local and international beers are sure to be a conversation starter. You also have the chance to sit down and catch a sports game/event or two as you order some food to go with your beverage.

Popular contenders are the German Pretzel, the skillet and tacos for brunch. We ordered the skillet and tacos for brunch, and swallowed it all down with their beermosa, which is a take on the popular mimosa but served with beer instead( neat right?)The location also hosts several weekly events such as; trivia night, game/fight nights, brewery takeovers, and musical performances.

There's a big UFC fight this weekend, so I thought why not give someone the chance to experience this fight in an environment suited for it? Or maybe you just want a beer and some food. Whatever the case, one lucky person will receive a gift card, beer glass and a cooler from World of Beer. Must be a local resident of Houston, TX to apply. Visit @brunchandconversation on Instagram to enter. All items are courtesy of World of Beer. Winner will be contacted on Friday, December 11.
Update: Congratulations to @lovelyintexas for winning the giveaway. Thank you everyone for entering.

Redd’s Apple Ale Taco Truck Comes to Town

One of my favorite beers, I would say cider but it's not a cider. Well, one of my favorite adult beverages has launched a nationwide Taco truck tour. HOLLER!!! Redd's Apple Ale will travel around the country offering tastings of their Apple Ale and Tacos. Notice I capitalized Tacos? Yeah, it's a big deal. Their 14 city tour started in this Summer, with stops in some fabulous cities like HOUSTON, Dallas, San Antonio, Los Angeles, New Orleans, San Diego and San Francisco.

Legal-aged consumers will have the opportunity to eat complimentary tacos and sample Redd's Apple Ale while enjoying an array of games at this weekend's UH tailgate. For those of you who don't know, Redd's Apple Ale is an apple-flavored beer with 5% alcohol per bottle. Be sure to follow @brunchandconversation, for updates.

Chelsea's Kitchen- Phoenix, Arizona

Restaurant:
Chelsea's Kitchen

Location:
5040 N. 40th St., Phoenix, AZ 85018

Hours:
 M-Sa 11a-10p
Su 930a-9p

Ambiance:
Rolling through PHX with my suitcase. A friend of mine recommended I try Chelsea's Kitchen before leaving Phoenix, Arizona. Pointing out it is one of the best places to eat if you find yourself stuck at the airport and starving. Chelsea's Kitchen has two locations in Arizona, one at Sky Harbor Terminal 4 and the other on East Camelback between Phoenix and Scottsdale. The restaurant prides itself in providing high-quality honest foods while paying tribute to the history of the area. The environment was busy, leaning towards the business kind of business, as everyone seemed to be a passer-by headed somewhere else. The service was spectacular, I had two waitresses. One was new and the other was around making sure everything was going smoothly.

What I Ate:
If you know me, you know it's pretty hard to pass off tacos, so I ordered Ethan's Vegetarian Tacos with an addition of Chicken(hah! Yes, I did). The dish consists of a selection of locally farmed vegetables, pictured below. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, it tasted fresh and was well prepared. All the ingredients, which are pretty easy to see, brought so much life to this dish and to my last few hours in the city.

Torchy's Tacos- Houston,TX

Torchy's Tacos
Restaurant:

Torchy's Tacos

Location:

2411 S Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77019

Hours:

Mon-Sat 11am-9pm
Sun 11am-6pm

Ambiance:
Located in the Rice Village area of Houston, Torchy's Tacos is a MUST try. The crowdedness of this place shows exactly how popular they are, I promise your wait will be worth it(it's actually not that long ;P). The place is small, but you have a choice of sitting outside with your order number and having your food delivered to you.

What I Ate:

I ordered the Trailor Park & Dirty Sanchez tacos, YUMMY! But I've got to say, the best one of the two was the Trailor Park. Something about the combination of the fried chicken, green chillies, lettuce, Pico de gallo and cheese was perfect. The Dirty Sanchez on the other hand, though good, I got tired of the fried Poblano really fast. But hey, if you love Poblanos, Holla at this bad boy ;)
