In a booming city like Houston, with food temptations left and right, it can get tough to remain loyal to that new "diet." But lucky for us, more and more conscious restaurants are opening lately. I had a chance to visit H.S. Green for a tasting, with my sister, and we were treated to wonderful food that I'm excited to share with you. We started the evening tasting some of their fresh pressed juices;
- 5 Berry: Perfect for mornings
- Watermelon lime mint: Very juicy
- Pineapple coconut mint: Refreshing and thirst quenching, favorite.
We accompanied the drinks with their Guacamame with corn chips, which is a delicious combination of their house made guacamole and edamame. You'll have a tough time putting it down, which is perfectly okay.
We followed up with the Buffalo Chicken wrap, with jalapeƱo ranch dressing and buffalo sauce. The vinaigrette in this wrap cuts the taste of the buffalo sauce without changing flavor. And their house made tortillas are perfectly thing to where you don't feel overwhelmingly full afterwards. Oh sorry, can you tell I LOOOOOVE this wrap?
A loyal diner recommended we try their Crispy Duck Fontina pizza, and what better recommendation than one from someone who dines there very often? The Pizza is made with home braised duck, with caramelized onions and a nice white creamy garlic sauce. The crust is made in-house, and again the thin crust makes it lighter and easier to eat and digest.
