Take a Field Trip to Bernie's Burger Bus

Bernie's Burger Bus, Best Burgers in Houston, Houston Happy Hour

I remember the first time I ate at Bernie's 3 years ago, when their yellow school bus made a stop right outside my then office during lunch hours(felt like we were skipping school). I was reminded of my younger years( people usually laugh when I say that), when we’d stand in a designated area of the neighborhood waiting for the bus. Although this time it was different, the bus was waiting for us, we all got in a single filed line to order from the school bus. The bus looked just like your average yellow school bus, minus the unexpected “pimp my ride” additions.

Tout Suite - Houston, TX

Tout Suite

Restaurant:

Location:
2001 Commerce St.
Houston, TX  77002

Hours:
M-F 7a-12a
Sa-Su 10a-12a

Ambiance:
There's something about a casual chic environment that brings me great comfort. Tout Suite is a local cafe bakery located in Houston's up-and-coming EaDo district. East Downtown is known as the Art & Soul of Houston, and is situated near the city's thriving businesses. This establishment screams hip, cool, casual and offers a very motivating environment to any go-getter out there. The cafe is housed in an old warehouse on Commerce Street. A friend and I stopped at Tout Suite for brunch and a little conversation, after a morning of volunteering. Click here, for a mini tour of this cafe/bakery.

What I Ate:
My friend, who was more familiar with Tout Suite, suggested we share the Avocado Toast, Veggie Quiche, and a side of bacon.  Upon ordering, we were given a number and proceeded to find a seat at the side bar overlooking the bottom floor. The Avocado toast was topped with cracked pepper, and we found it to be an excellent pairing with bacon. The slice of quiche was humongous, so amazingly delicious and very well executed. We were too full to indulge in the many tempting pastries as the bakery, but they are sure to make your head spin.

Their tables are a mix between round and rectangular, all draped with a white cloths. The natural light coming into the restaurant just makes everything look exceptional.

Masraff's - Houston, TX

Restaurant:

1753 Post Oak Blvd.
Houston, TX 77056
Fri: 11 am - 11 pm
Sat: 6 pm - 11 pm
Sun: Closed

Hours:
Mon-Thurs:11 am-10 pm

Ambiance:
I had the pleasure of going to Masraff's for a lunch meeting with two of our vendors this week. The restaurant is located on Post Oak in the Galleria area. The restaurant is very classic, the first thing you notice is their wine cellar near the entrance. We were welcomed by a friendly greeter who lead us to our table. Our host was knowledgeable as we asked him questions about the menu. The atmosphere is professional and classy. We came during lunch, so we were surrounded by men in their button ups, suits and ties.

What I ate:
I ordered the Hawaiian Shutome, also known as a swordfish, and a chopped salad with a balsamic & vinaigrette mixture. It was my first time having a swordfish and it was a wonderful experience, God bless this creature. The fish was blackened and served in a butternut squash, baby carrots, charred green cauliflower, yellow beet and tobiko vinaigrette/soup. Very filling!
My friends also enjoyed their meals accompanied by wine. This restaurant has a great wine selection.
